A we offer two memberships, firstly the clay site only, this is available for just £20 per year and offers discounted shooting at our clay ground, secondly is full sporting membership, all the benefits of the clay membership plus 12 months BASC membership and anytime access to 3000 acres of pigeon & vermin shooting.
To join download a membership form from our website and return it to the email on the page, one of our club committee members will contact you and invite to to one of our meetings where you can meet us, process your application and receive your probationary membership card. Once accepted as a probationary member you will have your shooting and gun safety assessed at our clay site which once passed will allow you to join our organised shoot days, probationary members are required to learn the ground and individual farms we shoot over the corse of 10 guided shoots, at the end of each shoot your card is signed off and once you have been familiarised with the ground and passed probation you are free to shoot wherever and whenever you like.
A we hold guided shoots every Sat, occasional Sundays and can occasionally take people out during the week.
A we have over 3000 acres across 7 farms, the purpose of the guided shoots is to familiarise yourself with the ground, boundaries, quarry (varies depending on pest species targeted) farmers and crops
A Membership to our club scheme is mandatory and a condition of our permissions, If you are already a member of BASC your membership number can be transferred to our scheme and you won't be required to pay a second BASC subscription.
A No, once a full member you are free to shoot as you please, you may be required to text the landowner to let them know you are shooting.
A You will need to be a shotgun certificate holder and have your own gun for sporting shooting, We do however have club guns available at the clay site and there is no requirement to be a certificate holder however you will be accompanied by one of our instructors at all times
A No you don't however all out ground is between Dover and Romney marsh so you do need to be within a sensible driving distance, you will also need to be able to attend the guided shoots before you can go out on your own.
A No, with the exception of section 1 shotguns we do not have any ground with permission for Firearms / Rifles
A yes! we have several areas ideally suited to roost and squirrel shooting and it is acceptable to use an air rifle however it is necessary to have a SGC to become a sporting member.
A yes we welcome new membership enquiries and hold a regular monthly meeting on the last Thursday of the month in Hythe.
A No, all are welcome to shoot!
A we do hold work parties from time to time mainly to keep our clay site tidy and the undergrowth cut back, any assistance is greatly received but there is no mandatory attendance.
A no you don't but all of our farms are dog friendly and in certain locations invaluable in picking up esp when the crops are up.
A YES!! we all had to start somewhere and there is a wealth of knowledge and experience within the club, we pride ourselves in being friendly and there's always someone at hand to help and advise.
A We are primarily providing pest control services to our farmers under the general license and don't actively shoot game or put birds down however we do have ground bordering commercial shoots and during the season there are game birds around. It is not uncommon to find Pheasant, Partridge, Woodcock, Duck or Geese.
